Storm Reconnects The Diefenbunker - Cornerstone of the Internet

Carp, ON. October 30, 2001 - At a news conference today held at the Diefenbunker - Canada' Cold War Museum/Musee canadien de la Guerre froide-Barry Williams, President & CEO of Storm Internet Services (Storm) announced that the ex-bunker is now back "on-line". Storm will be expanding its high-speed Internet service to cover the Carp area as a result of an agreement with the Museum's Board of Directors to use its on-site tower and provide broadband connectivity to the Museum itself.

Mr. Williams commented, "It was a real pleasure to put this deal together and restore service to the 'Central Emergency Government Headquarters' as it was formally know. This site was one of the cornerstones of the Internet yet the quality of service we will be providing was only a dream when this place was built. The Diefenbunker is a not-for-profit organization funded by entrance admissions and donations from the community. It is a project that we are proud to support".

"We look forward to having the chance to work on more projects of this nature with more high-tech companies" stated museum Curator Kelly Harrison.

Barry Williams concluded, "This is an important milestone for Storm-we are expanding our broadband service coverage into a key part of the Ottawa Valley and at the same time we have an opportunity to put something back into our community."
