Storm Internet
Finalizes Purchase from Public Parent Company
More Services Planned as Storm Reveals Private
Investors
OTTAWA, ON, September 5, 2003 - On September 3, 2003,
International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) [TSX:IDC] announced
it completed the sale of its wholly-owned ISP subsidiary,
Storm Internet Services, effective 29 August, to 4177347 Canada
Incorporated. Today, Storm Internet has revealed its private
investors and maintains upbeat plans for continued growth
in providing broadband Internet infrastructure throughout
greater Eastern Ontario.
"Our recently completed re-privatization of Storm allows
us to investigate several new opportunities that will compliment
our core competencies - helping us grow in our respective
markets" said Barry Williams, President & CEO of
Storm Internet. "Today's Storm, and its private investment
group, are looking forward to continue managing, improving,
and growing our service-based company" said Williams.
Birket Foster, Chairman and CEO of MB Foster Associates,
one of the key investors, said "I believe that the synergies
of an ISP, working with a communications company and a software
company specializing in data access and delivery, will create
and deliver new solutions to the communities served by Storm."
"We believe our group of companies will be able to increase
Storm's presence in Eastern Ontario through our numerous communication
sites," said Charles Walther, President of the Christie
And Walther Group of Companies. "We are also excited
to be involved in the premier wireless ISP and broadband provider
in Eastern Ontario, and believe the expertise within Storm
