Storm Enhances
Client Service with Local OttIX Loop
Faster Access to Local Information for Storm Clients
Part of Service Offering
OTTAWA, ON, October 16, 2003 - Storm Internet has successfully
enhanced its broadband service offering through its recent
connection with the Ottawa Internet eXchange ("OttIX").
The OttIX service enhancement brings local internet networks
closer together, providing faster, more reliable transfer
rates within the local Ottawa exchange.
"Storm is excited to have invested in being part of
OttIX. As a leader in adopting broadband access technologies
for our clients, we have continually improved Internet service
offerings to our client base, ensuring they have the highest
quality local connectivity, as the most affordable rates,"
said Barry Williams, President of Storm Internet.
The OttIX service offering enhances Storm Internet access
speeds for clients who transfer local data between local internet
networks. Now, Storm business or government clients who transfer
files between site locations, or customers who share files
in peer-to-peer networks, will experience a noticeable improvement
in both reliability and transfer speeds.
"OttIX has been formed with the sole intention of bringing
Internet service providers, large corporate entities, and
educational facilities in the Ottawa area closer together,"
said William F. Maton, a member of the OttIX Board of Directors.
"With Internet companies such as Storm connecting to
our exchange, we are able to add additional peering points
to enhance services to their large Ottawa client base."
