Storm HighSpeed DSL Now Twice as Fast for
Ottawa Users
Storm Internet has Increased Connectivity Speeds
for Most Ottawa Home and Business Packages
Ottawa, ON, February 16, 2004 - Storm has upgraded
its HighSpeed DSL service in Ottawa, allowing clients to surf
the Internet up to twice as fast as they could a month ago.
Working with its DSL infrastructure partner, Bell Carrier
Services, Storm has increased its upload and download transmission
speeds for its basic DSL service packages available to residences
and businesses across the Ottawa region.
"With Storm's increased speeds, clients can now upload
and download Internet data much more quickly, enhancing their
online experience" said Dan Wilton, VP Marketing &
Sales for Storm Internet. "Several Storm clients have
already seen a significant speed difference and are quite
impressed."
By the end of next month, and as part of existing packages,
all existing Storm 'Home' clients can expect almost twice
as fast download speeds clocked at up to 3.0Mbps (instead
of the old 1.5Mbps capacity) and 'Business' clients can download
at up to 4.0Mbps (instead of the old 3.0Mbps capacity). Both
services offer an improved upload speed of up to 800Kbps.
"Ottawa is fortunate to have such a high number of broadband
users connected to the Internet," said Wilton. "With
these recent infrastructure upgrades, end-users are the winner,
benefiting from higher transmission speeds at no additional
cost, allowing more people to try new applications and technologies
using their current setup."
Storm Internet offers connectivity options to residential
and business clients without the hassle of long term contracts
and complicated small print. With this new service upgrade,
Storm's HighSpeed DSL clients within the greater Ottawa coverage
area have already experiences higher transmission speeds.
For those clients who do not have access to HighSpeed DSL,
Storm offers a unique HighSpeed Wireless alternative in its
privately built and managed network that spans more than 50
