Clients Benefit from Storm SPAM Auto-Filter Service
Improved Internet Service Reduces Email SPAM Traffic for All Clients

OTTAWA, ON, April 21, 2004 - Storm clients have had an inhouse built SPAM Auto-Filter added to their account to reduce unnecessary "SPAM" email. Storm has developed, tested, and successfully implemented a software solution that limits email SPAM traffic that originates from the Internet and is passed through its email servers to its clients.

"This inhouse developed server software supports a heuristic, RBL-blacklist type model that successfully enhances Storm email services for our clients," said Herb Hartwig, CTO of Storm Internet. "Storm has noticed a dramatic reduction in network capacity associated with SPAM traffic. Although we know this SPAM Auto-Filter isnt 100% accurate, we have reduced SPAM up to 75% on some client accounts."

Through a controlled client test, Storm has improved its quality of client email service through dramatically reducing unwanted SPAM traffic. Storm has committed to ensuring this software is kept current and continues to combat SPAM traffic on its network. If you are a client and you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support.

According to industry sources, in March 2004, approximately 60% of email traffic on the Internet can be categorized as SPAM up from approximately 40% a year earlier.
